Lisa comes from a long line of novelists and writers. She began writing because she did not want to get married, have kids, or settle down. She wanted to live out of a suitcase and travel. knowing that writing would be the way to do that she began her first book, On Golden Mountain, which was a family history of her asian ancestors. This began her writing career. She is know married with 2 children still writing her stories. She has received awards for most of her books, including Best book in 2007 for Peony In love by SCBA and personal awards as she was honored as National Woman of the Year by the Organization of Chinese American Women in 2001.
