She was becoming disgraceful for not doing simple thins that she was ordered to do like walking around. She also made a comment that her mother found selfish. This shows how grateful we are because of the difference between their culture then and our's now.
Lily was becoming disgraceful by not helping around the house. she was acting moody and grumpy plus solitary which her family took as her feeling superior to them because she was now the future lady lu. this relates to this society's view of women because they thought that women should be abidding and passive. that they should never have their own opinions and to keep their emotions to themselves. plus it was the women's job to take care of the elders of the house and lily was being disrespectful to her mom or elder.
