ReplyDeleteLisa See was raised into an Asian culture, which surely inspired and influenced her stories. In many of her books she writes about the Ancient Chinese way of life which she learned about at a very young age.
ReplyDeleteIn Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, the family's way of life doesn't give them the opportunity to travel, which is something that See is fond of.
I consider this book to be authentic because of the detail that is used to portray their way of life.
